The journey to a healthy lifestyle really is an adventure. Sure, there are some hard choices (like at birthdays and special office parties), but it’s worth it. I have to continually think of food as fuel. Do I want to fuel up on empty carbs that won’t last, or really enjoy eating nutrient rich foods, like whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and lean meats? It doesn’t mean you can never eat sweets or pizza again. All things in moderation! In fact, we’ve learned to make our own pizza with unbleached white wheat flour, low sodium tomato sauce, lean meat, and lots of fresh veggies. If you add enough veggies and don’t add too much cheese (I know we all want to!), pizza can be a well-balanced meal. Anyway, check out Heather’s blog and encourage her on her own journey!
