In an attempt to be more accountable with my Scripture reading, I decided to keep a log like I do for my workouts.

I stopped tracking this when I stopped tracking my exercise log. I’m going to pick back up with both of them for a while, to try to be more accountable and consistent. Rather than updating daily, I may just update on a weekly basis, so it doesn’t become overwhelming or make my time with God a duty on a checklist.

Psalm 45:1, “Beautiful words stir my heart…” and Psalm 50:2, “From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines in glorious radiance.” Mount Zion is a metonym for God (as “from the White House” is a metonym for the President and his staff). So, if I want to know what true beauty is, I just have to look at God himself!

The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (NLT).
